The existing Neogen insider trading policy essentially boils down to two words, "trust us".

In its preamble to its discussion of Proposal 3, Neogen states (correctly) that I have been critical over the years of Neogen management. I have indeed been critical of issues such as: excessive levels of finished goods inventory, excessive levels of accounts receivable, reduced participation in analyst/investor/trade conferences, depression era mentality toward the use of debt (which now looks good in this near depression era ... but not always), complete failure to capitalize on the high market value (>30 times P/E ratio) of Neogen stock for the purpose of executing significant and meaningful acquisitions or mergers, and management support of a federal administration that placed the issue of food safety on a back burner for eight years.

I am not being critical of Neogen management simply for the sake of being critical. Regardless of the outcome of Proposal 3 on October 8th, I will consider it an obligation to comment from time to time. Shareholders should not simply be passive.

A final word: Given the virtually total absence of any support on this message board, these will be my final words on this Yahoo-Neogen message board. You may now all blissfully go back to sleep.
