However, if inventories are aligned properly (unlike last Christmas, no one has stocked their shelves anticipating brisk sales), prices should be firm. Outfits like Best Buy are vulnerable to aggressive pricing from WalMart, but I think JWN is in the sweet spot. Most JWN shoppers won't even go into a Macy's. (My wife's a Macy's shopper who thinks JWN is dowdy and overpriced.)
