Why does the government continue to waste money on NVEC sensor R&D, when at best after maybe 10 years of R&D grants and several millions of dollars, NVE has only been able to produce low-power, room-temperature magnetic field sensors sensors that can measure fields on the order to 1 nT/rtHz, when low-power, room-temperature magnetic field sensor products already exist that can measure fields below 1 pT (0.001 nT/rtHz)?
See http://www.meda.com/catalog/mgc-150.pdf This device is 1000x more sensitive than the best NVE sensor in the same frequency range, and very low power. It costs about $5000, but considering the millions of dollars wasted on NVE without any significant improvement in resolution (at best moved from 10^-8 to 10^-9 T/rtHz), the government would have done much better buying the Meda devices. Hindsight is 20-20, and funding agents may be blind Rating :
