Actually, some posters here are pretty close to the actual figures (admirable). Not sure if anyone is still here, but, nonetheless, if anyone is and is still only speculating, I have some very reliable information.
I finally talked with an officer at the company a few days ago regarding the special "dividend" of .75 to find out how exactly this figures into the scheme of things and where we might go from here. Here's what I learned:
The .75 special "dividend" (which is not a dividend per se but an advanced disbursement of the liquidation) will be paid to all shareholders of record as of 11/10/09. This "dividend" is actually an upfront payment (an advance, so to speak) of the final payout to all shareholders. The additional $/share to be paid down the road will be know only after finalizing the sale of the drug in development and after any outstanding issues are closed (timeframe here is approximately 9-12 months). At that time, shareholders will receive the remaining distribution due. Up to $1.06/share is the estimate to be disbursed/share.

EXAMPLE: If you own 10,000 shares of NTII as of 11/10/09, you will get an advance of the liquidation proceeds, i.e. $7500 on or around 11/10/09, and, if the current estimate is correct, you will get an additional $3100 when remaining proceeds [cash (~$25M plus ~5.5M) plus money from Xerecept minus negligible costs], are disbursed ... for a total of $1.06/share OR $10,600. If your cost basis is, let's say, .96/share, you will net a gain of $1000 [($1.06/share disbursement -.96/share investment = $.10/share profit) x 10,000 shares] or an approximate 9.1% gain on your investment, paid in two increments (the dividend in November, the rest 9-12 months from now).
I hope this helps clarify the nebuli on this board. Since I don't post on this thread or any of Yahoo's finance chat threads for that matter (too much pump and dump), I may not be back here visiting (lol), so please don't direct questions to me. I've already told you everything I know.
I am merely sharing what I learned with others here, because, in my search for any/all information NTII in hopes of finding some intelligent, legitimate information, the people on this thread seemed to possess the best understanding, albeit educated opinions. However, since I still found myself wanting a definitive answer, I made several phone calls, persisting until I finally got clear, reliable answers. Hence, I came back here to post what I learned.
Since I doubt I will wander back here, I suggest anyone with more questions call the company, although be prepared for just an answering machine and having trouble reaching any remaining employees (I did).
I hope this helps anyone who is still here or who wanders here in search of some solid information.
