just to make sure we are thinking critically here, what are the biggest risks that you see to meli? Let's think backwards. yeah..I got it, we're positive on meli, but let's not smoke our own dope. That's dangerous, and we can be our own worst enemy. If you're gonna drop 7 figures marku, I want to make sure you think backwards. Let's be realists. I want you all to weigh in. 1) one of the internet big boy invades latam to take-on meli...could happen, but honestly think acquiring makes more sense....but it is a risk since competition eats into proft margins, market share and business. Anyone say craigslist? craigslist is the bane of ebay's existence.

2) ebay spends $10B on craigslist instead of meli!!!! Yeah I said it dudes...U.S. bigger prize than latam. so you're acquisition catalyst for owning meli has a little hole in it. But I know ebay is not the only buyer. :))

3) I'll add one more...management misses a shift in internet / tech market. But given tenure of management, they've been there since the beginning of online and ecommerce and managed through 2 busts (dot bomb) and the great recession, so I think we're in good hands with marcos. Plus, meli smart enough not to repeat ebay's DUMB mistakes. Plus, marcos has a fat stake...he's got skin in the game. He's hasn't got his google like pay day yet.
