I don't *think* this means a whole lot, other than it gives them until year-end to vote on the deal, whereas the previous 9-20something date gave them until November-end. (they have to vote within 60 days of the record date -- but they're allowed to change the record date along the way).

Conspiracy theorists, feel free to speculate that MVL just extended the timeframe by 30 days to allow another company more time to swoop in with a better offer... ;)
