I can tell you. i worked as an embedded software engr and mfging engr for them for 17 years. they closed our facilities here after forcing us to train our chinese counterparts. they then opened identical facilities in china. so instead of paying someone here $20k per year on our assembly lines, they pay the chinese couterpart $160 per month to do the same jobs. All the while, the price of the scale did not drop one bit in price. And all the intellectual property of analog to digital conversions and hard won mfg'ing techniques spawned here in the greatest country in the history of the world was just handed to the thankless chickens that pecked our eyes out. I can still remember the first time the chinese showed up at our place in 1994. they were just going to get our old heat treatment ovens and make really low end scales that could never compete anywhere else in the world be china. Liars, Liars, Liars. Yes, I am still ticked about the whole thing. We poured our hearts and lives into our work. We loved our products and innovations. But we forgot we were all just liabilities to a publically owned monster of greed. Now you know.
PS We did our a/d using a charge balance capacitor configuration. Circuitry complete with advanced mathematical documentation. The most accurate, and fastest balances in the world. Damn, we were good.......... :o)
