Re: MHR Presentation Posted     30-Oct-09 12:28 pm
Very good points Slab. I am currently trying to learn a little about the 'New' Company and some of its people.

They gave a 'Contact', name and e-mail address, on one of their Press Releases.....I am attempting to qualify the quality of attention a shareholder may receive from him when making inquiries through 'channels'......So far all I think I have received is an attempt at a 'brush off'.

Why don't some of you join with me to ask sensible questions of Mr. M?

I have been trying to listen to a replay to verify what I think I heard about the new Pipeline being constructed because existing lines are full. So far, I have not been able to get a replay up on my computer. I have ask of MHR, through channels, questions about this pipeline. If I am wrong about what I think I've heard, PLEASE CORRECT ME.

Mr. Evans had lots to say about the new pipeline being built, but no details. That is what generated my questions.

Here is a question I asked:

"2. The 55 miles of pipeline construction, with a cost expectation of around 3.5 million dollars, is planned to tie to a major trunkline. I thought I heard it was currently being constructed, but one friend said "It was, but was stopped in its tracks by the bankruptcy." HERE IS THE QUESTION(s): Is it stopped? If so, when will construction resume, and when is it expected (hopefully) to be completed?"

END OF MY QUESTION

Here is the response I received:

"Some answers to your questions below have not been made public as yet due to a variety of reasons, such as maintaining a competitive advantage etc… amongst other reasons.

As such, we can’t make comments on non-public information regarding this contemplated transaction."
END OF RESPONSE to first question.

I can understand why he might not answer a question where the answer might divulge information they might wish to keep "Tight".....But then he made a statement about "Stripper wells" (a subject I did not bring up) that seems to be suggestive, to an old 'East Texas Oil Field' guy who has seen sixty year old producers, that many of the 2,000 wells are indeed "Strippers". His comment tries to turn that thought. Here is another comment followed by a question which I asked of him:

"All of us are very disappointed that 2,000 wells are only producing nearly 1,000 boepd.....That is about 0.5 boepd, which in our opinions, is one reason for the negative response to the news release. My friends asked me about it and I could give no answers except to say "The pipes are full". We were told in the CC that before drilling more wells the pipeline problem would have to be solved.....HERE IS THE QUESTION: When the pipeline problem is solved, what will that 1,000 boepd be expected to become? Surely many are shut-in or 'choked' by high line pressure? It is only natural to assume there will be an improvement in the boepd rates.

Here is his response probably prompted by the comment about the 0.5 boepd production average:

His response, "Hydrocarbon production in the Appalachian Basin is unique compared to other producing provinces in North America.

In other words, what would be considered stripper production in some other part of the USA is most definitely not considered stripper production in Appalachia."

MY IMPRESSIONS so far:

My first attempt to communicate with Mr. M, has ended with an impression that he either, doesn't know, doesn't care, doesn't understand or was too busy to take the time.....??? Whatever, he is the first of the Evans Folks to give me a queasy feeling.

FOLKS, please realize that one event is not conclusive in any way. Mr. M. may be the best PR rep. we could ever hope for.

Kindest regards to all.

GO MAGNUM.

Happy investing,

Spudder
