What are they going to cut next?     23-Oct-09 04:43 am
As the final quarter begins, my thoughts turn to managements thoughts as to what will be cut next. The past has shown that they only know how to cut at the bottom which weakens the entire organization. Will they even consider making cuts at the top? History says no. Management is unwilling to do what it takes to turn a profit. They killed profit sharing so is the next step to create a loss sharing plan? They added furlough days......doesn't seem to effect the bottom line (especially when you add people to the top that negate any savings (hiring ex-CEO Chicago Tribune to the board) How about raising the prices again, (a huge number of advertisers and subscribers left) you could finish those tight wads off. You cut down the actual size of the pages, a savings you will never see in your life time. By the way that is a huge expense that will have to be paid in the fourth quarter, starting you out in a big hole.Hmmmm.......what can they screw up next? I not sure what is more amazing? MEG management or the people buying this stock at this price even time after time management has been proven to be nuts and they continue to lose money. It can not be all blamed on the economy. I predict now that MEG will lose money again this quarter, even more than it did in the third. It is a no brainer. What I can't figure out is where this price is going and why? But hey I will take my profits along with everyone else. Keep on buying!
