Some of you knowlegeable people help me understand. If we are going to burn coal why don't they generate the power near the coal fields and transmit the power by wire rather than use RR to move massive amounts of coal all over the country ?
Since natural gas is abundant in the U.S. and burns cleaner than gasoline why is it not a priority to move us to it as the standard fuel. Is it perhaps that the whole energy picture the public is given is fabricated to suit special interest ?
