Some of the folks on this board might not have had the chance to listen to the 2q09 MAIN CC yet. However, you might have got the false impression from around the way that several investors/analysts asked MAIN 'point blank' about the pace of new investments during the quarter.

This is at best an embellishment of fact! ;-) Not least because no analyst ever asks a question like that 'point blank'. They want a piece of the underwriting on the next equity offering, so they say things in a much more polite fashion. Ha!

Anyhow, don't take my word for it. Here is a quick summary of the questions asked during the Q&A...only one of the callers had an angle on when the pace of originations should pick up. Maybe Will meant to ask his question in a point blank fashion...I don't know...it didn't come off that way, though.

G&A came in better than expected vs our numbers. Can you give us any more color on the higher consulting fees? Are those likely to be recurring at current levels or is there something one-time about those? Is the run rate for incentive payments kind of the ball park rate for the remainder of the year?

You said you expect more non-accruals in the back half (of 09). Can you provide more color? Is that particular industries or problems or is it just the economy that's doing it?
