I am surprised to see G/L make to move to direct sales.
They have always catered to the “ebay” style reseller who would, clean up, sort and resell the merchandise.
The items that G/L is selling on-line are the same items they have been selling in “bulk lots”. However, now that G/L is selling them direct to the consumer, and selling them at lower than market price, won’t that drive down the ARSP of the bulk lots?
Aren’t they biting the hand that feeds them by directly competing with their best customers?

It would seem to be that G/L would infuriate their existing buyers by selling merchandise 50% less on-line, and make their regular bulk-lot buyers less likely to bid up future auctions, for fear that they will eventually need to compete with G/L directly.
What are your thoughts?
