I see it on other stocks also. I have lists of stocks by industry made into mock portfolios so I can tract stocks similar to what I’m in or interested in. I do this to see whether a move is stock or group or market related/driven. Often there will be trades like you describe that are not really after hours trades. They will show up as done after hours but really they aren’t. For instance see the one linked. You’ll note that it too shows the trade as happening at 5:00pm. The others normally show up then too (at the same time on a particular day).
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=SYNA From the SYNA board when someone saw the same on that stock….”they are nothing more than late prints or re-reported daily mis-prints. All trades have to be reported and printed. Due to the thousands of trades in stocks each day, many are wrongly printed at real time, so, they need to be properly reported and that gets done at the end of the day. The only time it matters and reflects the current market price in after hours is on news. Fo'get 'bout it. I know many new to trading think there is always a boogy man out there that's trying to kill their stock. That's NOT what is happening here. There are many games that get played, for sure. But, it's nearly impossible to control a stock price - regardless of what many think - for longer than a few days and most likely a few hours. A trading firm could lose its license in seconds if it were shown to be doing that. The one thing that the SEC and Fed will absolutely not stand for is any impression at all - real or imagined - of any kind of market manipulation. They need our markets to feel to everyone that it's a fair game. If the perception ever became it was rigged, the market would crater (as you saw last year) because there wouldn't be any confidence in it. Now daily games by big traders are one thing. But being able to control a stock is another. Most of the time it's just a function of not enough buyers or sellers to move it. It's 'occum's razor' theory -- usually the simplest explanation is the correct one.” Rating :
