Several quarters ago Tom boasted he'd slash
$20M from this year's operating expenses. I was
so amazed that I lampooned such silliness in one
of my better poems. Now with last quarter's
income statement, we can see a major part of
his business plan is to cut R&D costs, a path
history has amply demonstrated is a no-exit
freeway to oblivion, as one's larger and deeper
pocketed competitors aren't apt to hang back.
For a one-trick pony like LeCroy, 'scopes are
it's sole salvation. So in light of the $2M
cutting of last quarter's R&D budget, I've
regurgitated up another poem:

Tom told the market what it wanted to hear
"I'll cut 20 million!". Just how wasn't clear.
But cutting waste and whatnot
was not all that he wrought.
R&D too got the knife- Oh my dear!

2 million he cut from last qtr's tab.
Hiatused those projects in the test lab.
I'm sure Tom's reply
if one queried why:
"Our lineup's great! Wow, ain't they fab?!"

But what's fresh now will quickly grow old
and discounted heavily before it is sold.
For to run at a trot
is to freeze in one spot.
A shopworn maxim, repeatedly told.

But I've an idea, if posting I may
for funding research another few days:
Slash Tom's pay to a buck,
tho he'd holler like f*ck.
Tragically, I'd agrue, he's still overpaid.
