Staffing industry is a dog      3-Oct-09 12:11 am
I've been looking at the staffing industry and, basically, it seems to be a dog--about like the used car business.

I've met a few nice and intelligent people who do recruitment but the rest of the recruiting industry and the temp part of the staffing industry is another whole matter indeed. The industry seems to be filled with low skill and poorly trained employees who feign selection competence ... just as used car salespersons feign some engineering knowledge of automobiles. Usually staffing salespersons and recruiters seem to be empty suits.

In addition, the industry is volatile. The stocks go up and down far too often. Probably because there is no real value behind the services of much of the staffing industry, a wind comes along and knocks the shape out of the empty suits that sell staffing services.

I wonder why investors keep investing in this industry. To me, this makes about as much sense as investing in penguin eggs or hot air. Kforce staff have always seemed to be the empty suit and head types to me. It is no wonder to me that the stocks of this company don't do much over the longer term.
