We have had several requests for help organizing Asheboro and other KMT plants.

The easiest way is to reach out on line or by phone to a local AFL-CIO in your area. They will provide you with cards, training, and other materials. We can also help as we have efforts underway in other locations.

By law you need at least 30 % of your friends to sign cards. The number should be closer to 50 - 60 %. Once cards are signed, the labor board will schedule a vote.

If 50 % + 1 of the employees vote Union Yes, the union will be recognized.

KMT will tell you unions are bad. They will tell you there is no for need third party representation. They have a track record of threats, interrogation, and spying on your activity. These are all violations of law. KMT has had several unfair labor practices lodged against them. As we write , they have a team of lawyers crafting speeches and preparing letters. These lawyers do not care about you and your families.

You have the right to talk about organizing in your plants on breaks, and at lunch. If they threaten or lsiten to your conversations, document it and file it with your representative.

Think about the last few years. The take aways, plant closures, losses of 1000's of jobs, inconsistent policies, and friends that have been terminated for no reason. You do not have a voice in today's KMT world.

You and your family deserve better. You have sacrificed for years. The return you receive is give back more. Work harder as you get further along in your career.

Look at today's leadership. Ask your self if you trust them with your livelihood, do you trust them to do the right thing for you and your family ?
