Chambers sure is a master wordsmith. As for what he is saying, that is a bit more difficult to discern.

As for selloffs when the good news flows, that is a basic tenet of WS - to "sell on the news".

Does it make sense to one looking at the news? No.

Is it frustrating?

Yes.

But over varying time periods - and that is the concept that needs emphasizing - earnings do (for the most part) determine stock prices.

It just doesn't seem so on a day to day (trader's) basis.
