I believe the MX3D that was announced yesterday just answered your question. 6 ASR's to 1 MX3D, less power, space and blows the performance away of any other technology out there today.

Juniper has been quietly developing the best chipsets in the industry and I believe they will either be taken out by one of the big boys or continue to partner where it makes sense. All good news for Juniper, still a thorn in the side for Cisco.
