I've known people that have worked at Vistakon for about 15 years and they've had 3 layoffs that I can remember. 1st one they had a few years ago and went by the CREDO and the layoffs was by SENORITY. They were laying off around 600 and seemed alot of the Management Positions were moved around to look like they were impacted. Funny when they layoff a person with 30years and a month later someone with less than 5 years takes their position.

Jan of this year they had around 100 layed off and those were by positions the company deemed no longer necessary. Again we saw some high payed employees lose their jobs and others lesser employees taking their places.

Oct of this year they layed off another 180 in Operations. DIDNT go by the CREDO but decided to do it by performance Evals. Said 5 Management positions were being impacted and in fact all they did was moved them to other parts of Vistakon. They had Engineers with 20-30years being let go and business needs keeping others. Then they bunched all the Line Operators together from Process Techs (level 1) to Engineering Tech IV's and layedoff 30% of them not by Senority but again by Performance. So a Eng Tech IV with a 5 (avg)with over 20 years lost their job to a Process Tech with a eval of 6 with less than 5 years. This not counting that the Eng Tech is 3 levels higher and did what it took to make it to level 4 and the Process Tech didnt the Process Tech saved his job. CREDO at its best.

Had Techs with over 20 years having to take a lesser paying position just to stay in the company but the Management Positons were able to take other positions even if it was a lesser position but maintain their payscale. Of course these jobs wern't offered to the Techs even if some of them were just as qualified.

Why I'm glad I don't work for a JnJ Company. They can do whatever they feel like with the CREDO to meet JnJ needs.
