Good question... It sounds like that as a TurboTax Advantage member (where you selected the automatic renewal option), we are validating your credit card. I actually suspect the "charge" you see is just an authorization that lets us know that your credit card is valid and has sufficient funds. This is a standard procedure for merchants. That authorization is usually released within 48 hours. If your credit card is declined, that gives us sufficient time to notify you to update your billing information so your TurboTax shipment is not delayed. The same would apply if you placed your order with us recently. The actual billing to your credit card should happen next week since we begin fulfilling the TurboTax products next week.

Although you may not use the product until April 15 next year, we bill upon shipment (Nov 16) or when it becomes available for download to you (Nov 13).

Just to clarify, we don't bill your credit card until the product is ready to ship to you or made available for your download.
