You think the company should act your talk. You have decided there is only one way to approach the PVC issue, and any alternative is hypocritical. The company, however, is still acting on the strategy for sustainability it set out a decade ago.

I share the same goals as you here. I appreciate that Interface is taking an alternative approach to reaching sustainability goals--an approach with alot of potential.

I am skeptical of bio-resourcing, whether bio-fuels or bio-carpet backing. Paper is made from trees but you don't improve sustainability by using more of it. You conserve and recycle. Switching to plant-based carpet-backing solves one problem but creates others. Ethanol, for instance, created more problems than it solved.

Interface's attempt at 100% recycling is a much better solution-- if it is attainable. It may not be attainable, and bio-resourcing, or some combination of bio-resourcing and recycling, may be the best solution. In fact, I'm glad both approaches are being pursued in the industry.
