Insiders own most of the company, they are based in Europe, very little information is available on the company and the total market cap is very small. On the London exchange the trading volume is much higher.
The only reason I can see for listing on the AMEX is to give their North American employees a way to cash in their stock options. Also, it looks like they want to create a significant presence in North America and an AMEX listing will help in stock based acquistions.
The company looks healthy with good growth prospects.
Their biggest competitor is Delcam (DLC.L) which in terms of sales is about 2.5 times bigger. VI group seems to have a better range of products and stronger growth. Other competitors are Gibbs, Mastercam and a bunch of others. (See http://www.tenlinks.com/cam/products.htm)
GVI looks like a good long term buy and hold, but would be a lousy stock to day trade.
