What ever the reason and I am going with the suicide bomber/eat your young mentality at some hedge funds the market was getting tired and is now rolling over. The dollar index looks like it finds support around the 72 level at which point we could see a break in the dollar dow link. Interestingly gold and the dow are temporarially still linked with gold showing the same top action as the equity averages. Oil seems to be attracting the temporary capital in the commoditity markets and there is a flight to safety in short term bonds thats also apparent.
Oil looks headed for 110 crb for 410 and dollar index 72. Those are achievable in a short span of time and it makes the move back into consummable commoditities the likely result. Move into alternative energy and farming for those of use who refuse to assist in pointless suicide and prefer our dollars spent on areas where positives can result. Politically its a last reminder to the public why we need alternatives as the energy and health bills kick around congress and we move closer towards the copenhagen meeting in december. Consumer and financial stocks likely to trade inverse to oil for the period. Makes for a good time to trade the crb stocks and stock up on component makers for christmas shopping which should come in ahead of forecasts that will undoubtedly be revised lower with oils rise. Expect the gold breakdown to be confirmed with the fed meeting and talk of preliminary auctions of assets and some word on the currency swaps program. Inflation to continue in check at the core level maintaining an easy monetary stance which sets the stage for the bottom and bounce in and through the holidays with a tame dollar and oil to break down during that stability. In the mean time use broader market weakness to pick up commodity and energy names of choice as the herd begins to change direction for the run up in these names. The fed usually releases minutes a few weeks after the meeting so a week before thanksgiving which is the 26th and a drop in oil ahead of driving season for the holidays assures the shopping season is a festive one.
