From observations at competing retailers yesterday ( Sunday ) and also on Saturday, retailers were packed with long lines at checkouts. This was true at big box stores, grocery stores, warehouse clubs, garden centers, and area furniture stores but not at Haverty's.

At the peak of yesterdays heavy shopping day I drove over to Haverty's, only about 10 cars parked by the store. Went inside, salesperson shrugged shoulders to my comment that other stores were very busy. Of those 10 cars apparently 8 to 9 belonged to staff.

Looks like another bad sales month for hvt.

Will we type in a huge sales decline again for April sales when posted around May 7?
