per review of 10-k, it looks like they could get a refund of $139 million assuming the NOL carryback period is extended as part of HR 3548. This asset is currently included in deferred tax assets and is fully reserved vis a vis a valuation allowance such that net amount of this asset on the balance sheet is currently $0. What is the impact on stock price of turning an asset with a $0 value into $139 million cash? how would you quantify the impact?
I understand that the efficient market guys think it is priced into the stock. when did it get priced into the stock? yesterday? if so, is the expected value of the home buyer credit extension/expanstion plus NOL carryback provision equal 50 cents (ie move from low this week to current price; Reid's amendments weren't widely discussed until this week)?
