Regardless of what source you feel its coming from; Obamanomics, Badbush, Globalization... what we are seeing is just a repeat of the large and top heavy conglomerates who died in the 70s Grace, LTV.... Its a good thing, as it gives new ideas a chance in the marketplace. As the current slate, HON included, became powerful, the offered promises of security and wealth accumulation. in 2007, with it obvious that the banking system underpinning was crumbling, rather than wail at what is to come, the smart individualist shorts his employer, and makes far more than was offered in the retirment program. Infrastructure will continue to be needed, and one can take their wheelbarrow of cash and invest it elsewhere. No waiting for anyone, no complaining, just a relentless drive to exploit the moment. When you think of it, this is exactly what HON teaches. Not on the face of it of course. In 2008, we were expressly told not to give out the perception that the stock was going to tank, and to encourage staff to stay invested. The individual has to think for him or herself... and where there is adversity, there is always in attendance equal and better opportunities.

Do not fixate on the decline of HON, focus instead on the next HON move. If you missed the signals, stronger than any landing strip lighting system HON makes, of their 70% decline in 2008/9, and failed to ride them out of the March interim nadir.... Wait and see the reaction of HON after earnings, then get on the long or short train for the next ride.
