Huaneng Power International (NYSE:HNP), the largest Chinese independent power generator, reported 2009 first six months interim results as follows:
Consolidated operating revenue: RMB33.61 billion ($4.91 billion) Profit attributable to equity holders of the Company: RMB1.87 billion ($273.6 million) Earnings per share: RMB0.16 ($.9363/ADR*) * ORD:ADR ratio is 40! While it is a positive sign that the company returned to profitability, its profit margins remain below 2007 levels forcing the company to tap debt markets for future expansion.
