Oh boy. I was notified of the severence package the Owensboro members are being offered. Everyone that has ever worked for HNI has been told many times, how HNI is concerned with the prosperity and well-being of its members. Well I tell you this, the severence package they are offering the Owensboro members is a contradiction to that affect.
"Members" that are already laid-off, no matter their term of service, get NOTHING. "Members" with ten years or less, get 3 weeks pay. "Members" with ten years or more, get 4 weeks. Nothing for their accrued vacation, nothing for "0" lost time accidents, nothing for still producing to keep up with production numbers, nothing for caring about quality and the HON brand name. We have been told that if we do not take this so-called package, they are going to fast-track the closing. Members are getting it as usual. Some of us in Owensboro call this our "Bone US". This time the smoke and mirror work is nonexistant. HNI is now telling everyone in Owensboro, that no matter the years of service and dedication you have put into making the HON brand a national success, "We care nothing for you".
The Board of Directors needs to look at some of the managment service contracts. When they take a close look, they need to give them the same severence package they are giving Owensboro. Get rid of the Million Dollar Golden Parachutes.
Stand up Owensboro members and let the managment know you are pissed.
