It is my understanding that Quest/Exam One has been marketing a new pricing model based on leveraging their numerous Quest draw sites. In effect they offer much lower paramed exam pricing because they are utilizing draw site staff and locations vs. paying mobile examiners. It may be a 2 tier pricing model (draw site and mobile) with the mobile fees still significantly reduced. Has HH adressed how they will market/price their product to protect already declining market share against this strategy? Or do not see this (Quest's) as a viable strategy? Any opinions on how effective and profitable this will be for Quest/Exam One? I understand that Allstate/Lincoln Benefit has signed an exclusive contract with Quest/Exam One based on this model effective 1/1/10. For HH, EMSI, and APPS there doesn't seem to be much room for lowering prices any further and still make a profit. Margins are low enough as it is.
