Goodyear's Final Gasp For Survival     29-Oct-09 05:35 pm
After working for Goodyear for more than 35 years and watching it's slow demise, this appears to be it's last gasp for survival. Years of cost and personnel cutting, cutting out on retirees health care, no pay raises except for the upper crust, bad business decisions extending deep into debt it is really looking bad for GT. No company loyalty left, just hanging on for a few more days or months to try and retire with something. Good luck those of you trying to retire before the total collapse. GT was a great company until the mid 80's, then went to a kind of good company, and in the mid to late 90's too much greed at the top and to hell with the people at the bottom. I was there and have been thru the whole mess since 1971. Good luck to all you trying to survive.
