It's like football. You don't know which team is going to win until you line up and play the game. Similarly, you can't prejudge the outcome of an experiment. If you knew the outcome in advance you wouldn't have to do the experiment.

"Toss up," to me, implies 50/50-ish type odds. That's not correct in my estimation. "Slam dunk," to me, implies certainty. That's hubris in my estimation.

Let's put it this way: In its Phase III trial, at the first look, TNFerade had performed pretty much as expected based on the Phase II data. The most likely outcome of the second look, expected within a few months, is a reconfirmation that it's performing pretty much as expected. If trends continue, TNFerade would appear to be most likely approvable by the FDA following the conclusion of the trial in 2011. However, "most likely" does not mean certainty.
