I did miss your posting. Some weeks I am not on the MB but for a very few minutes and then the postings start flying so thickly, I never get back to see the old.

Unless Z changes its business model, Z should be in the high-end ingredient production business rather than the marketing business. Marketing the end products is an entirely different business and you cannot compete with your own customers. The company needs to decide what it wants to be before any real growth can occur. IMHO, it is always better to have clarity in selling your products as high-end ingredients to the food industry. In my opinion, words do mean something and you cannot pull the wool over the eyes of the food company professionals.

I do believe that Brad was trying to pull the wool over our eyes from what reportedly occurred at the Annual Shareholders' Meeting. BE tried to skip right over what the RiBran Isolate really was, so typical for this master of illusion, but several questioners pinned him down until he admitted that the "isolate" was really SRB in varying degrees of fineness.

I realize that there is always the issue over the fact that the rice bran and germ layer are really not "whole foods" as they constitute the outer 8-14% of the brown rice kernel. I have always preferred to look at the SRB as brown rice concentrate, rather than an isolate, which it is not. You see, the SRB contains everything that the whole brown rice kernel has but with less of the insulin-stimulating carbohydrate which we call white rice. Concentrated Brown Rice or Brown Rice Concentrate. There is nothing isolated in SRB. SRB differs only in the amount of carbohydrate removed from the brown rice kernel and the degree of milling is determined based on the end use for the rice itself. Rice intended for use in the manufacturing of beer has been polished much more deeply (heavy polish) to eliminate all traces of fat which impedes the fermentation process. Therefore, the rice bran from that heavy milling would contain more of the starch or carbohyrate than lightly polished rice and less of the nutritious fats, fiber, vitamins, antioxidants and phytonutrients.

Again, I think that truth-in-advertising is the best policy when dealing with food companies. Just my two cents.
