Your statement is misleading and meaningless. You take the low from last November and suggest that because the share price has moved up 500% from that low that a lowered guidance picture for next quarter is problematic. The 500% rise from BGC's low says nothing except that when investors saw the economy starting to recover they came running back to General Cable because it's a good quality investment with a good future.

General Cable is digging themselves out of a hole just like everyone else and such progressions are rarely smooth. This company's future is brighter than ever. They remain in one of the best positions to take advantage of, not only the US recovery but also, the world's recovery. One of the world's biggest concerns is energy, including redesigning power grids so that they are more energy efficient and incorporate alternative energy sources, all of which will need an unprecedented amount of power cables. As I've said before, this is one investment I don't worry about.

True, next quarter isn't looking so hot, but I didn't invest in BGC based on what they might do during the last quarter of 2009. My decision was, and continues to be, based on their long term prospects, which I think will be long, relatively steady, and significant. I will be increasing my position over the next 6 months, and I'm sure I won't be alone on that.
