If the 5 months is a lump sum yes you can get UI. if they 5 months is spread out weekly, then you can't claim UI until after those 5 months. Just take the 5 months! You got out of a dying company with some pay. You'll find somewhere else (and a better company!), just may take some time! There are some transportation companies out there hiring, and making money. Those are the ones that are ran properly, (the ones that make money in these tough times, only the strong survive!). Best wishes on your future endevours!
