FREE VETERANS MEDICAL INSURANCE      4-Nov-09 02:53 pm
Extreme medical importance FOR VETERANS.

If you served in the Military for over 180 days you are entitled to FREE medical care at any of the Veterans Administration medical facilities. YOU DID NOT HAVE TO RETIRE OR HAVE A MEDICAL DISCHARGE TO RECEIVE THIS FREE CARE !

My story that leads to my mission to help and inform others :

I am a 54 year old male and served in the military from 1975 thru 1982. I received an Honorable Discharge and have spent the past 25 years making a living for myself and my family. Things got tight in the spring of 2007 as I lost my job and had no health insurance. I noticed what I thought was a boil on my nose in May of 2007. Thinking that I had no health insurance I tried to take care of the problem myself and did not seek the attention of a Physician. After several months of hot compresses and no results I decided to see a Doctor and spend money I did not have in trying to solve the problem. As I did not have insurance the Doctor put off an expensive biopsy and tried some cremes instead . After a week of applying the cremes with no results I called him back. He informed me that there was nothing else he could do for me. I asked him about the biopsy he had mentioned and I guess he figured he may never see his money for this procedure so he told me to go some where else for treatment.

Again with no health insurance I struck out on my own . Over the next 2 months the problem got worse. My wife finally made an appointment with a Dematologist that order a Biopsy the same day I saw her ! I had cancer ! By putting off the initial Doctor visit for my nose , the cancer had spread to my neck ! Two more months of this and I would have the cancer either in my lungs or brain , both of which may be a death sentence. Two years and 15 operations , Chemo and Radiation treatments later I am cancer free. If I had gone to the Dematologist as soon as I noticed the bump she said I could have had the cancer removed and sewn shut with 3 stiches. ALL IN HER OFFICE !!!

WHY I DID NOT DO THIS??? BECAUSE I THOUGHT I HAD NO MEDICAL COVERAGE.

If I had only known that I had coverage all along my life would have been so different. Again, if you served in the Military ( you do not have to be retired or medically discharged ) you have FREE medical coverage at any VA medical facility.

I have considered starting a non-profit organization to get this simple but life changing message out but I decided to go another route. This being , if you or anyone you know has been a member of our armed services just pass this information on to them. Have them in turn pass it on to others. And the big one being that any Email you receive ( spam or legit ) attach or better yet copy this note and send it back to that Emailer. Odds are that by passing on this simple bit of information you may save someones life .
