First Place stock is a great investment at this price for many reasons. First, they applied for and were approved for TARP funds a few months back. That should tell all investors that the FED was not concerned at all about the bank, the loans on their books or chargeoffs, or their rick based ratios. Neighboring banks who applied for funds were turned down. TARP funds were mostly handed out to larger institions and not small home town banks unless they were especially solid. Secondly, they were savy enough to purchase 3 offices from another instittion last month in these depressed economic times and have it immediatly contribute to eanings. Lastly, the sell off from the end of June was becuase of institutions having to sell due to it being removed from the Russell 3000. Many web sites pointed out that those are good times to buy value plays as the sell offs usually or not overdone for no reason or news. Plus, an interview with the CEO he hopes the bank will be added back in to the Russell 3000 some time next year which means all institutions will be forced to buy it back causing a steep rise. The reason they were removed was souly based on market cap requirements from Russell 3000 - that's it. Buy this now before it's to late.
