ferrellgas has improved its operations dramatically during the last few years, but it is highly leveraged and is buffeted by powerful forces beyond its control, such as gridlocked capital markets, and customer conservation amid high energy prices and a slow economy. We think the propane distribution business is generally attractive, but we are concerned about the long-term sustainability of Ferrellgas's $2-per-unit distributions.
