CONSTRUCTION BUSINESSES are still hurting from recessionary cutbacks, putting pressure on industrial product makers like Fastenal (ticker: FAST). Analysts say declines have finally bottomed out for that company, but at least one insider is whittling down his stake, selling $3.5 million in shares.

Robert A. Kierlin, chairman and founder of Fastenal, sold 90,000 shares for $39.09 each on Oct. 14.
