To the new FIS CEO     11-Sep-09 02:19 pm
I used to work at FIS and I saw the mergers/spinoffs that it went through.

If FIS wants to truly create value for shareholders, then the new CEO has to have the guts to actually merge the businesses. Why does there need to be 20 departments that do the same thing? Why not consolidate? It seems like a bunch of businesses operating independently under one roof.

Another issues, take IT. Why do you need 20 or 30 different support departments? Why 20 or 30 Windows/Unix/Linux/DBA Admin departments? Im not saying reduce headcount, but something tells me FIS can be much more efficient if they had one CIO running one IT department for the whole company and consolidate IT systems. Will make it much easier to manage and allow the company to save a BUNCH of money, which can then be passed onto customers to win new business! Just my 2 cents.
