Some folks confuse Record Date (usually what the company talks about) and Ex_Div date. The difference IS important.
Book value, EPS. etc is not meaningful for LPs (and MLPs). The metric you should be looking at is DCF (Distributable Cash Flow) which measures how much cash is available to fund distributions. VNR is an MLP; unlike most they don't have a GP (General Partner) running the business Rating :
