Amazing how different countries are. On a recent trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, even while being major fossil fuel exporters, the desire to go renewable there is massive. I got a chance to have a discussion with the Crown Prince. He fully understands and accepts Global Warming is VERY real and is moving to rapidly build massive renewable energy plants. While Australia, also a big fossil fuel exporter, struggles to accept Global Warming is real and has no real plans to go renewable in a big way.

So which is the leader here?

I predict the Middle East and North Africa will be the biggest (by many times bigger than the rest of the world combined) solar market on the planet and not just because they have good solar and lots of money. Their leaders understand the world is changing and they wish to be at the leading edge of the change.

I so concerned that Australia will just continue to dig up coal.
