Here is a message I got after my seller account was hijacked twice in one weekend. I never gave any personal information to anybody. Their arrogance is unbelievable. There was $1500 in transaction fees charged to my account by the hijacker and thank goodness ebay caught it. In Ebay's eyes this was my fault since they post all kinds of information about spoofs.

Who in their right mind would have left personal financial information on Ebay or
Pay Pal after this? They owe me $3.92 and will not mail me a check. They want me to give them the credit card number used on the seller account. Just like when the account was hijacked my password only works at some places.

I have been a customer since before they went public. I have never had a breech of my account access like this at any bank, airline, merchant or anything else online.

Read this response and tell me whether or not this is a company out of touch or not--

In regard to eBay allowing your account to be accessed, eBay is
dedicated to securing accounts. We offer a security center and a spoof
tutorial or order to educate our members about spoofs emails, which are
the leading cause of account takeovers. eBay is a secure site, but we
cannot prevent members from giving their passwords to third parties. The
educational tools are there to avoid spoofs.

I also assure you eBay's system has not been compromised. We have over
165 million registered users, any compromise of eBay's system would have
been well covered in the press. In addition, we are bound by a newly
enacted California law requiring us to disclose any breaches of customer
