I have no idea what that question is about! A transfer of ownership of partnership units on the outside has zero income tax effect on the remaining unit holders or the partnership itself.
A change of control is a corporate issue where the target had loss carryovers (the use of which becomes restricted), but there's no relevance to ENP. Maybe he was confused. So was Cramer apparently: "Oil and gas firm Denbury Resources’ plan to buy Encore Energy Partners was a bad idea." (Street.com). Okay. Rating :
