On April 8, 2009 I said that I would increase my holdings in gold which I have been doing. India just bought a significan amount of gold from the IMF and gold took a pop today. It is my belieg that gold will continue to surge especially as the economy improves. Also, note that Warren Buffet invested 23B in Burlington Northern, not just for its intangible assets but for what I believe is his uncanny timing. As the economy improves, so also does rail cartage. I see this as a signal to buy DD over the next 2 months to take advantage of what should be outstanding earnings in the first 2 Q's of 2010. DD just announced their projections for 2010 and I think they were much too conservative. I expect the Ag division to take major shares of seed sales due in part to Monsanto's poor management of their seed business and the farmer's reactions to Monsanto's customer treatment. Another signal is the recent GDP numbers that have grown for the first time in a long time signaling the end of the economic slump. Yes, jobs will lag for a while until business conditions improve through the end of this year. Gold and DD, these are my personal reads from the latest economic activity.

P.S. Does anyone know of a gold exchange that has lower margins than APMEX? They charge about $30 above spot for an ounce. Anyone out there with a better deal?
