He currently has 902 items listed, and all end in 1 day and 10 hours.

And look at those DSR's.. Impressive!
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...

He don't need eBay - eBay needs him! His past buyers who want another poster know where to find him.

Let eBay replace him with some newbie who has no clue how to run an eBusiness!

Meanwhile according to PSU listing numbers are dropping hourly!

Re: I'll Bet emovieposter Comes Back to Ebay     18-Feb-08 12:07 pm
Ebay lost a lot of good sellers like him during the store-to-core debacle. The core listings have been stagnant ever since that disaster. And that was with a ton of lising sales to help keep the listing numbers up. IMO, the new heavy-handed policies will make it worse for the U.S. core if the store-to-core debacle was any kind of indicater of how this will turn out. Time will tell.

Emovieposter already has a good repeat base customers & good customer service so I believe he'll have good success on his own. If nothing else, Ebay management's heavy-handed policies helps sellers understand there is ecommmerce life beyond Ebay (cheaper too).

I've been watching alternative sites growing on PSU. iOffer.com is closing in on 2.5 million listings. I read somewhere where they will let you import your feedback from other places. That's a great marketing strategy if true and maybe why they are closing in on 2.5 million listings. eCrater is about to close in on 1 million listings (I recently had a very nice sale on there lately, buyer came from Google Product Searh). Several sites are closing in on 1/2 million listings. We'll find out where Amazon is next quarter but they have reported an increase in sellers.

I've learned it doesn't matter where you set up whether it's your own site and/or an alternative. It's all a risk, even Ebay is a risk. With management's heavy-handed policies, it makes Ebay even more of a risk to sell these days. You can always keep Ebay a small sales channel. You also can gradually increase your presence elsewhere so you can be less dependent on Ebay.

As long as you are patient and do what you can do to be creative/innovative, you have a good chance of succeeding. Also, make sure your products feed to Google, Yahoo and other search engines through paid and unpaid search. Email marketing campaigns are good from your former customers as well. Local advertising of your website can also bring in local sales. Actually local sales are good because buyers can see the items before purchasing.

Good luck to anyone taking the next step,

SW

This must have been one of the "bad" sellers I hear about?
