Hi folks.

I'm a long term holder of EMA. The current dividend is solid and attainable via EPS as far as a utility stock goes. Before today's big jump (5x average volume), I was earning over 5% as a Cdn dividend and after our stock tax credit, you can't find a much better yield.

However, if you go to the charts and look at the maximum length of time, you will see steady stock growth and, more important, you will see EMA weathered the 07, 08 recession better than most, making it a great defensive stock, which is why I hold it. Cdn utilities (CU), and Enbridge (ENB) are other great defensive stocks.

EMA and ENB operate on a Cost Of Service formula, which is like printing money, a guaranteed return, come hell or high water.

Well, bipolar, I would say that at 18 - 19 this is an excellent buy with just about as stable a dividend as you can expect these days. And tax credits make it an attractive yield.
