Mr. Taylor et al,

I can actually tell a reasonably funny story about this exact principle which isn't sexist so I won't get into trouble with any of our very valuable lady posters. My wife and I were walking around at a flea market several summers ago. There was a guy looking at some stuff on a table but he turned around when someone standing near us called out to him. Both my wife and I immediately noticed that this gentleman had on a yellow T-shirt which said on it in black, bold letters "IF A MAN SAYS SOMETHING IN THE WOODS WHERE NO WOMAN CAN HEAR HIM, IS HE STILL WRONG?"

My wife, who has a reasonably sharp wit, pointed at him politely and said: "No, but you are."
