Surely voice-to-email also competes with systems that just email the recorded voice file or provide web based access to it? Personally I prefer to listen to the audio - if there is any lack of distinctness in the recorded message I'd rather judge for myself what the original was (and also have the benefit of generally knowing the talker and the context).

Also - on the comment that DITC spent $50M on R&D and hence this must mean there is some value - unfortunately this has no rational basis and sounds more like wishful thinking
