There are two main bashers on the EMC board the thing that they have in common is Joe Tucci fired both of them
Howard was shown the door by Joe as a salesman at Unisys and Sam Wainwright was booted out by Joe after fourteen years at EMC as a low level marketing type

In the technology industry people are well compensated as long as they perform up to the company's requirements
It basically comes down to they could not cut it.

It is sad that they are spending their retirements obsessing over an individual who was only doing his job of cleaning out the deadwood
