I know it sounds funny but I would prefer the stock to NOT go dramatically higher upon earnings, like you said. I think I mentioned it before. If it shoots way up, it would inevitably retrace a big chunk of it back regardless of how fantastic the fundamentals are. When that happens the stock looses momentum, and then it will spend a long time in the flats consolidating until some other good news (like the yearend results 3 more months away) pulls it out of the doldrum. No, I'd rather hold more reasonable expectations. Assuming good ER next week, let it test or break the previous top by some, and build the support line at, say, buck fifty, and let it trace a smooth curve upward. Stocks that have big sudden moves attrack traders, and when the stock is in play you get the roller coaster treatment. On the other hand, stocks that log steady gains attract investors. A stock like CNOA, IMHO, is too good to get ruined by a flameout. I am in this for the longhaul, and I would be perfectly content to sit back and enjoy the long pull. That's the best way for it to get to the three, four, five buck territory in the long run - a full year from now (I am hoping, not predicting).
